Legend has it that this mountain was the summer resort of the Gods of Olympus.<\/p>\n

We see why as it’s so beautiful here. Our base is the village of Afissos<\/strong>–our hotel is on a hillside above the Pagasitikos Gulf. <\/strong>The Aegean Sea is just over the mountain.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This morning we visited the Saturday morning market in Argalasti<\/strong>. We bought a small wooden cutting board from a local craftsman with a happy smile.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Wishing we could bring home a boatload of local olive oil and honey.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The town square in Argalasti is a great place to relax.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Many roads in the Pelion region are narrow and curvy. I’m grateful for Larry’s nerves of steel–he’s doing an amazing job of driving!<\/p>\n

We are excited to explore here–we’re enjoying the beautiful seascapes and lush flowers!<\/p>\n
