This the scene in our backyard the day before our departure!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-325 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457.jpg\" width=\"477\" height=\"636\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457.jpg 3024w, https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457-113x150.jpg 113w, https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/travel.woodring.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/img_1457-750x1000.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our plan is to dress in multiple layers as we walk to our nearby MARTA station in 19 degree temps at 5 a.m. Marching onward to warmer weather!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The\u00a0<strong>itinerary<\/strong> for this trip is pretty simple!\u00a0 Just four destinations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hong Kong<\/strong>-5 nights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chiang Mai<\/strong>, Thailand&#8211;13 nights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chiang Rai<\/strong>, Thailand&#8211;5 nights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bangkok, Thailand<\/strong>&#8211;2 nights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s a mix of favorite spots (especially Chiang Mai) and new places (Hong Kong and Chiang Rai.)\u00a0 This map of <strong>Thailand<\/strong> from the Lonely Planet website shows the location of major cities.\u00a0 Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are in the north, and Bangkok is a one hour and 15 minute plane ride south from Chiang Rai.\u00a0 For this itinerary, we&#8217;ll use a combination of plane and bus trips.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lonelyplanet.com\/maps\/asia\/thailand\/map_of_thailand.jpg\" alt=\"Map of Thailand\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be staying in the Kowloon section of <strong>Hong Kong<\/strong>.
