It usually takes us a few days to recover from jetlag so we haven\u2019t wandered far from the hotel. \u00a0Today has been an especially good food day! \u00a0Our favorite thing for breakfast is yogurt (Greek of course) and thick local honey.<\/p>\n

We tried \u00a0Bougatsa<\/strong>, a tradition inThessaloniki, flaky phyllo pastries for lunch. \u00a0One with spinach, mint, and dill. \u00a0For dessert a Bougatsa with custard cream –\u00a0<\/span>sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar (not shown).<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinner was at Restaurant Argofageio <\/b>(Greek for slow eating). \u00a0It was a 10 minute walk from the hotel – a tiny place with only a few tables..<\/p>\n

The Greek salad was enormous and delicious;<\/p>\n

\u2026and the special souffl\u00e9 with pur\u00e9ed potatoes, minced meat and corn was a specialty of the chef. \u00a0Larry\u2019s calamari was tender and served with a lemon sauce. \u00a0We had the nicest meal there!<\/p>\n

Outdoors seats at the restaurants are packed on a Thursday evening and we can see that preparations are underway for the Greek Orthodox Good Friday celebration.<\/p>\n

The shop windows are fun for browsing!<\/p>\n

The weather has been chillier than we expected and a bit rainy at times. \u00a0We walked a while along the water front, back to our hotel, the Electra Palace.<\/p>\n
