When the weather looked cold and rainy and we scrapped our plan to travel north the Basque region, we had to make some decisions. \u00a0Granada or Valencia? \u00a0Granada seemed a little easier to get to, the weather a little warmer, and we remembered that we liked it many years ago. \u00a0So here we are! \u00a0The main street, Gran Via is lined with colorful ginkgo trees.<\/p>\n

Larry is a whiz at getting us from one destination to another and booked bus tickets from Seville to Granada. \u00a0We used an app like Uber called Cabify to get to the Seville Plaza de Armas Bus station which worked great.<\/p>\n

The bus was crowded but masks were required and we arrived in Granada exactly 3 hours later.<\/p>\n

We checked into our apartment at Elvira Suites – it was a nice space but with lots of windows, really high ceilings, \u00a0marble floors, and unexpected cold snap in Spain, it was just too cold for comfort.<\/p>\n

Today we moved to a chain hotel for a smaller room with a better heating system. \u00a0We\u2019ll be here for the next three nights. \u00a0So our clever plan to find sunnier skies didn\u2019t quite work out but we like it here!<\/p>\n

There are lots of good dining options in Granada and last night we tried a delicious array of tapas at Bodegas Castaneda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Because of the North African cultural influences there many restaurants that serve Middle Eastern food. \u00a0For lunch, we enjoyed lamb couscous, hummus, and mint tea at Moroccan Tajin Elvira.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and it\u2019s one hour by car from the Mediterranean Sea. \u00a0The main attraction here is The Alhambra but advance tickets are required. \u00a0By the time we decided come to Granada, it was too late to get tickets. \u00a0We made the steep \u00a0climb this morning and enjoyed the view of the surrounding area from here.<\/span><\/p>\n

We think there is plenty here to keep us occupied for a couple of days – in spite of the chilly temps.<\/p>\n
